The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation proudly maintains 174 parks for you! Local parks have playgrounds, organized sports, special programs and classes from swimming lessons to aerobics to Teen Clubs. Community Regional Parks provide larger facilities with youth and adult organized sports leagues and playing fields and walking clubs. Regional Parks includes lakes with boating and fishing, miles of hiking trails, swimming and activities including bicycling, hiking and horseback riding. Nature Centers and Wildlife Sanctuaries provide education on the native flora and fauna of Los Angeles County. Visitors to our four arboreta and botanic gardens experience plants from throughout the world.
