The 1968 edition of the Ford Mustang saw Ford redesign the original for the first time, adding more powerful engine options which allowed buyers to have a stock big block 7.0 L engine, an improved transmission which was inspired by cars on the drag strip and a brand new luxury interior which replaced the ???Pony??? style interiors of the past. The biggest engine which was available was the famous Cobra Jet, introduced for the 1967 model year. It was capable of 335 horsepower and a 13 second quarter mile time at 103 miles per hour.
