At the most southerly tip of Antigua, The Lookout, part of the Shirley Heights military complex, commands a breathtaking view over the whole of English Harbour.  Behind the catchment on the highest ground, 490ft (150m) above sea level, was the Signal Station from which a system of flags was used by day and guns by night to convey messages to St, John's by way of Great Fort George on Monk's Hill.

Barbuda is one of the 2 major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. It's known for its secluded pink- and white-sand beaches like reef-lined Spanish Point, and North Beach, backed by palm trees. In the large Codrington Lagoon, the Frigate Bird Sanctuary is a habitat for huge frigate birds and more than 150 other bird species. Nearby is laid-back Codrington, the only village on the island.

Sitting astride a magnificent horse, it's easy enough to imagine yourself as one of the British soldiers who built Fort James back in the 18th century. Today, Nelson’s Dockyard provides many sites and activities for visitors to explore and enjoy. The Dockyard Museum, located in the former Admiral’s House, presents visitors with exhibits regarding the Dockyard’s history and current archaeological research on the island. 

Sightseeing drive: Get a glimpse of island life as you pass the villages of the lush countryside on the way to our Jolly Harbour embarkation point. You'll take the controls of a 30 horsepower 2-seat inflatable Rhino motorboat for the scenic ride down the coast. Cades Reef: Slip over the side to explore an exotic undersea world of colorful coral formations teeming with tropical fish. Snorkel, mask and fins are provided.

This tour begins by off-roading through Antigua's countryside before you kayak to North Sound National Park to see first-hand the fragile natural ecology of the mangroves, habitat of exotic marine animals and plants. Then it's on to uninhabited Bird Island for lunch and a climb into the hills for a fascinating, panoramic view of where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea merge.

Betty's Hope was one of the earliest sugar plantations, dating to 1651. Climb aboard our comfortable 4 x 4 Land Rover for an adventurous and fun-filled tour of the most interesting and beautiful places on the Island. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at Betty’s Hope and then on to Long Bay Beach for a refreshing swim, or relaxation on the beach before returning to the resort.
